The policy of this company is to provide and maintain safe and healthy working conditions, equipment and systems of work for all our employees and to provide such information, training and supervision as they need for this purpose. The company also accepts that it is responsible for the health and safety of other people who may be affected by the activities of the company. The company will comply with legislative requirements and will encourage the use of safe working practice

As a general rule, all our operatives on all sites will as a minimum will be required to wear; Safety helmet, safety gloves, high visibility vest and safety boots.  Dependant on site operations additional PPE including Face fitted dust Masks, Eye protection, ear protection  and safety harnessing may be worn.  WBJ provide all such equipment to all operatives wherever required.  The specific requirements for each site will be clearly detailed within site specific RAMS

Every member of staff at all levels will have specific roles and responsibilities, instruction, and training as is necessary to enable the safe performance of work activities. It is therefore the duty of senior  management to ensure that all processes and systems of work take account of health and safety and are properly supervised at all times. Adequate facilities and arrangements will be maintained to enable employees and their representatives to raise issues of health and safety

WB Joinery are committed to working with CSCS to improve our workers competence.  CSCS keeps a database of those working in construction that achieve, or can demonstrate they have already attained an agreed level of occupational competence. Successful applicants are issued with a card giving them a means of identification and proof of their achievements.  All WB Joinery staff hold a relevant & valid CSCS card.

WB Joinery are making huge investment to ensuring our operatives are fully skilled and trained for the roles they undertake.  We have already ensured that all senior managers will be qualified to NVQ level 7 Construction Site Manangement.  All site supervisors will hold the Construction Skills Site Supervisors Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) certificate and will be working towards or hold NVQ level 4 in Construction Site Supervision.  All operatives in addition to the CSCS card will hold as a minimum a current Asbestos awareness certificate and Manual handling training certificate.

WB Joinery will always ensure the competence of our staff whilst working at height.  Where access is via mechanical lifter we will ensure the operative is in possession of a current IPAF training certification.  When working from mobile scaffolding we will ensure the equipment has been built and maintained by a person in possession of a current PASMA training certificate.
